ORWES / Specification checklist
Record a clear material specification
Use this web checklist to record product references, dimensions, finishes, installation interfaces and supporting documents for a material enquiry.

Identify the product
Give each line in your material schedule a clear reference. Use the supplier’s model or product code where available, and keep a link to the relevant drawing or specification. If an item has not yet been selected, state what remains open.
- Product name, category, model and quantity
- Dimensions and tolerances to be agreed
- Material, colour, finish and approved sample reference
- Configuration, accessories and exclusions
Identify the project interfaces
Record connections to other products, the installation location and access requirements. Separate supplier responsibilities from the work being carried out by the installer or another trade.
- Required technical and installation documents
- Review and approval responsibilities
- Drawing revision and sample approval date
- Packaging, delivery and storage requirements
Confirm before committing
Keep the approved specification, samples and quotation together. Confirm inclusions, exclusions, quantities, packaging and delivery responsibilities in writing. A sample can help establish appearance; it does not replace the product information and project checks needed for the intended application.
When a decision changes, update the schedule and drawings before the next stage. Ask the relevant project professional to review installation requirements and applicable product documentation.
